I would like to provide some information regarding the Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program which is now open for 2020-2021 academic year nominations.
If a student is interested in the program and seeking a nomination, they will need to email firstname.lastname@example.org, no later than Thursday, August 13th, 2020, with a current physical address, an updated resume, and a one page essay explaining why they believe they should be nominated. Please note that the office can only nominate one person and priority is given to constituents of House District 3.
It is also important to keep in mind that there are many obligations required by the scholarship. According to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, a scholarship will become a loan if the student fails to:
Maintain satisfactory academic progress;
Fulfill any terms of the terms of the scholarship;
Fulfill a four-year commitment to be a member of the Texas Army National Guard, Texas State Guard, United States Coast Guard, or United States Merchant Marine; or
Contract to serve as a commissioned officer in any branch of the armed services of the United States.
More information on the scholarship can be found here.
And always, if you need assistance with a state agency, please call my office at 512-463-0650 or e-mail us at email@example.com.
God bless Texas!
